Search efforts in the hadith and hadith experts say Indonesia can be said not done systematically, not even adequate. It could be thought to be caused by several things. Firstly, the fact that the study of hadith moreover Hadith expert in Islamic studies is not as intense as others, such as al-Qur'an, fiqh, morals and so on. Second, the study of hadith can be said to be growing very slowly, especially when seen from the fact that the scholars Nusantara had written in tradition since the 17th century. However, as shown later, these writings are not developed further. Study hadith after it stagnated almost one and a half centuries. For this reason, the attention of the observer to the study of Hadith in Indonesia is still lacking. Even if there are observers who are concerned, attention is still partial and not comprehensive. Amanah is God's gift to the sky but the sky is not able to carry it, only humans who dared to accept the mandate it. Amanah, Hugo is a noble trait that has been attached to the Apostles themselves. Study of tradition (Sunnah) becomes very urgent to do, given is strategic position as one of the principal sources of Islamic teachings. Do not just study sanad but no less important to do well against matan. Because it’s central position is a study of hadith becomes important. This includes the study and understanding of the ins and out of the following hadith variety and its problems. Scientifically, the discourse requires format and accurate research methods to the study of this tradition.This article attempts to examine how the concept of tradition of research in ontology, epistemology and axiology, to then the study of hadith through research models type sanad and matan. The hope will give its own repertoire of how each researcher have the clarity of the concept in researching the traditions to be grounded.

One of hadith discourse is the doctrine of claim that the companions of the Prophet are the group is considered to know the group's most religious doctrines in the original form. The companions also transmit all riwayah to the next generation. A transmission path can only be accepted if they have the criteria of justice. In the development of the study of hadith, the scholars tend to focus on critical studies al-naqd sanad al-Hadith of the study of al-naqd al-matn al-Hadith. In contrast to the study of Hadith in the period companions, who are even more emphasis on the study of hadith matn. This is due to the rampant cases of forgery of hadith in the early days of Islam.Muhammad Ghazali was a Muslim scholar in Egypt among so many Muslim thinkers who try to assess traditions with emphasis on the study of the study matn sanad. Al Ghazali is not glued to the systematic rules sanad hadith validity but can be initiated by matn research traditions. In fact, it is not uncommon quality Ghazali rejected Hadith valid because it is not in accordance with the general principles of the teachings of the Quran and rational argument.Al-Ghazali then try to formulate some kaedah relating to the validity of matan hadith. As a result Ghazali sought in presenting his thoughts on the rules of hadith criticism matn philosophically interesting to observe. Grave pilgrimage is one recommendation contained in the Hadith, grave pilgrimage itself aims to remind people to death. Hadith’s that talks about grave pilgrimage contained in the books of hadith, especially kutub al-sittah (principal six books of Hadith). As a whole, the quality of Hadith’s who discussed grave pilgrimage is authentic. The intention in revealing the content of a Hadith, then it can be achieved with the Hadith’ comment concerned. In this activity against a Hadith can use some other disciplines as an approach, as long as a branch of science that is used has been linked to the theme of the Hadith which will disyarah. One approach that can be used is an anthropological approach, which can be used to uncover the values of tradition that lives according to the times, circumstances and culture of a society. One of the grave phenomenon is a bustling pilgrimage at the tomb of Mahmud grandparents who were on home Makam Mahmud, Mekar Rahayu, District Marga Asih Bandung regency.
